UNEMPLOYMENT COMPENSATION PROVISIONS WITHIN THE CARES ACT
With the passage of the Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security Act (the CARES Act) on March 27th, THREE different, fully federally-funded unemployment compensation programs became available once the State executed the required Agreement. These programs are the FEDERAL PANDEMIC UNEMPLOYMENT COMPENSATION (FPUC), the PANDEMIC UNEMPLOYMENT ASSISTANCE (PUA), and the PANDEMIC EMERGENCY
UNEMPLOYMENT COMPENSATION (PEUC). Governor Whitmer signed an Agreement to Execute the three types of unemployment compensation plans provided for in the Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security Act on or about March 28, 2020.
